The fantastic series ‘Queen Gambit’ is all set to launch on Netflix streaming service. It features Anya Taylor-Joy (also known for her role in Emma, 2020) in the lead role. The series also features Marielle Heller (who is a popular film maker) as Mrs. Alma, Moses Ingram (also known for her role in Day 74) as Jolene, Bill Camp (renowned for The Outsider), and Thomas Brodie-Sangster (best known for The Maze Runner) as Benny Watts. The series has received a sequence of six episodes.
The recent news revealed that Queen Gambit went into production in August, 2019. This series has been adopted from the novel of 1983 which has the same name and has been beautifully penned by Walter Tevis (famous American novelist of his time). The series has been minutely directed as well as co-written by the same person Scott Frank (best known for his contribution in Godless). In addition to Scott Frank, Allan Scott (well recognized Scottish Screen writer) has rendered his contribution to this marvelous series.
Both Frank Scott and Allan Scott with William Horberg are expected to be the executive producers of Queen Gambit. In fact, the intimidating tab on Netflix is set to display this series because of its vivid characteristics. As soon as the trailer came out, certain fans seem to desperately await for it to be available on Netflix. No wonder Taylor- Joy‘s excellent performance not only while the shooting is going on, but also off camera is a major reason behind it being appreciated so much. The filming of Queen Gambit took place in Berlin. The trailer put forth before us that the series will begin from 23rd October, 2020 on Netflix. In fact, all the six episodes will be accessible at the same time.
What is the story of Queen Gambit?
It has a psychological theme to it along with featuring a chess genius, Beth Harmon. But that is not all to the story. Being a mastermind at chess, does not come that easy. The whizz kid Beth is also a druggie of tranquilizers that she comes into contact with while being at the orphanage. The years under display that showcases Beth’s character development are from 8 till the age of 22. Beth Harmon’s goal in life is to become a Grand-master in chess.
Till now, the episodes to the series known to us are titled as Adjournment, End Game, Exchanges, Fork and Middle Game. Does she achieve her dreams or is there any twist to it?
