Sadly, the Canadian-American series, The Order is canceled by Netflix. This means that the show will not have a season 3 and the storyline will end with the second season. The second season of The Order was released in June 2020. After its release, the fans were looking forward to another season. But, according to a post by the show’s screenwriter, the series will not move any further. Any specific reason behind the cancellation is not out at the moment. However, the news is not a surprise as the streaming giant has been very strict with the renewal policy this year.
The Order is a Canadian-American horror drama streaming television series which debuted on 7th March 2019. Dennis Heaton has created the show originally for Netflix. Moreover, Heaton writes the show alongside Jennica Harper; Penny Gummerson; Jason Filiatrault; Shelley Eriksen; and Rachel Langer.
The first season recieved a bunch of positive reviews, and later the show was commissioned for another season. The second season came out in June 2020, and sadly, it was the last ride of the show.
Season 3: The Official news!
The pandemic has played an important role in ruining everyone’s lives this year. The same happened to the entertainment industry. Almost all of the shows and projects were shut down or delayed due to the coronavirus crisis. Also, it made Netflix cancel some of the shows like ‘The Society,’ and the fans were worried if the same would happen with ‘The Order.’ Unfortunately, their fear is now a reality, and the decision can not be undone.
In October 2020, the word was out claiming that the show is going up on auction. This update was enough for the fans to understand that the show is coming to an end. And, now in November, Dennis Heaton used social media to address the news many had suspected in October.
Heaton wrote, that he is honored to have worked on the show for two seasons. He said that sadly the cast and crew won’t be returning for a season 2. But he will still cherish the show and the props he stole from the set. Heaton also mentioned how the show is one of the best things of his career.
Season 3: What Would Have Happened?
Besides sharing the bad news, Heaton also posted some of the possible storylines that could have happened in season 3. He told the fans that Jack would have brought Alyssa from the dead for sure this season. But, Alyssa would have returned back with demon-like characteristics. ‘Like Pet Semetary,’ Heaton said. Heaton also said that Alyssa would be possessed by Zecchia, and she would have also brought some other corpse with her.
Surely, season 3 would have caused much more excitement and thrill among the fans, but, neither Jack nor the creators can bring the show back.
The shows stars, Jake Manley; Louriza Tronco; Katherine Isabelle; Adam DiMarco; and Thomas Elms. Also, Devery Jacobs and Kayla Heller appear on the show.
