Felicity Evans and Toby Venables’ story has inspired the plot of the movie. The film premiered on 27th January, 2020 in the Sundance Film Festival after which Netflix bought the rights of the movie. Starring Wunmi Mosaku and Sope Dirisu, the plot revolves around the couple who seeks a place at an asylum in the United Kingdom after they flee from Sudan where everything was in chaos due to war. They try to find a housing estate where they can temporarily reside but it comes with certain guidelines and regulations. To stay in the country, they had to follow all the rules which was a difficult task. They start encountering weird events where they find out the house that they live in is haunted. It starts to threaten them and they start to find it difficult to stay. During this time, they show how the couple does not fit among other citizens and they are not accepted by people around them.

Weinstein Company was suing the production saying that they backed out from a distribution agreement for the movie. As the document was unsigned, Weinstein had to drop the lawsuit. After its premiere at the Sundance Film festival, the movie received many positive reviews. The movie also stars Matt Smith, Javier Botet, Emily Taaffe, and Cornell John.
