On 28th October, 2020 Netflix announced that the American crime series ‘Narcos: Mexico’ has been renewed for its third season. The sad part is that Diego Luna will not be a part of the upcoming season. Also, Eric Newman is stepping down as the executive producer as he has other projects to focus on. Newman said that Narcos will always be an important part of his life and he is super proud of what it has achieved. The production of the series is amazing and with every season you can see them stepping up. Carlo Bernard will now be taking over Newman’s shoes as well.
What will we get to see in the third season of the crime-drama?
The synopsis for the third season states that it is based on the 90s where drug dealing went global. Also, Luna not being a part of it will be a huge loss. When asked about it, he said that he wanted a break from acting and shooting for ‘Narcos’ is really intense and tiring. The new season will be about dealers and the violence is expected to increase. Also, with worldwide dealing, political powers and abuse will also be highlighted. In this season, we will see some characters rising to power while some fading out. The first season of the show premiered on 16th November 2018 and has released two seasons to date. Initially, it was titled ‘Narcos’ which had already released 3 seasons. The plot was based on the drug King Pablo Escobar and his journey but then Netflix decided to shut it down as activities with drug enforcement administration came into the picture. Then, they decided to create ‘Narcos: Mexico’ a spinoff which is all fictional. The show stars Michael Pena, Diego Luna, Tenoch Huerta, Alyssa Diaz, Joaquin Cosio, Jose Maria Yazpik, and more.
The plot explores more about the drug dealing in Mexico specifically. Talking about the Mafia dealing with drug activities to new dealers growing is the main motive.
