Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ is an American web series created by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. The show first debuted back in November 2017. The show is based on the character of the same name from Marvel comics. Also, it is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of the Marvel movies love when their character gets an entire Tv series based on them, And the same happened with The Punisher. The series recieved love and praise from critics as well as viewers. Moreover, the show is a spin-off to marvel’s Daredevil.
The show has successfully completed 2 seasons, the first one was released on November 17, 2017. Following the success of season one, the show was renewed for another season the very next month, which aired on February 18, 2019. The fans are now, eagerly waiting for the third installment.

The Punisher: Season 3? Renewed Or Canceled?
Sadly, the streaming giant has canceled the show after two seasons. Just like other shows, such as Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, The Punisher is also dropped by Netflix. Although, there is still some hope left for the show to continue; As Marvel has reacquired control over all of their characters. So, the idea of eliminating the show sounds absurd.
The Disney+ Marvel platform is creating a whole new world for the Marvel characters. Many other series based on characters like The Falcon And Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki are included in the list. So, maybe in the future, we can expect another season of The Punisher.
It seems like we have to wait for quite some time to know if the show is happening or it has ended for eternity.
Story And Cast
The show is based on the character from MCU of the same name. It revolves around the life of Frank Castle, a vigilante who uses extremely dangerous methods to solve crimes. The show begins with Castle seeking revenge on the people who killed his family. However, a lot more is revealed to him and to the viewers while taking revenge. He discovers a massive conspiracy that leads to another storyline of the show and Castle’s life.
The Punishers intense ways of fighting crimes and punishing people amused many, but, some were not happy with the show. The marvel fans were supportive of the show, whereas the others gave mixed reviews. This can be the reason for the cancellation of the show. Although whatever, the reviews and reception were, the show still received an Emmy nomination for its amazing action in the show.
