House of Dragon is an upcoming American tv series. It will be the prequel to the American fantasy drama Game Of Thrones popularly known as GOT. GOT was a huge success, and it was successful in creating a wide fanbase around the globe. After the success of the show, the creators and the network are finally moving forward with the prequel, House of Dragon. The show was first hinted a while ago. But, now the streaming service has dropped some major updates regarding the prequel.
However, ‘House of Dragon’ will mark the second spin-off to GOT. As the fans were earlier introduced to ‘The Long Night’. Sadly, it was dropped merely after an episode. Luckily, the programming head of HBO, Casey Bloys has confirmed all the news regarding the new show.

HBO’s Confirmation For The New Show
The project for ‘House of Dragon’ was first discussed in 2019. Back then, Casey Bloys also talked about the first prequel. He said, “In development, in pilots, sometimes things come together, sometimes they don’t.” He also mentioned how the writer of the show, Jane Goldman beautifully crafted the plot which was a huge challenge as she was creating a world 8000 years before the [mothership] show.
He later told how House of Dragon will be an easier path to walk upon as the show will be based on a book. This will also help them to get a series order effortlessly. Moreover, he praised (writer) Jane, and said that she did a beautiful job and there is nothing for him to point out and call it a flaw.
In the end, he said, “We purposefully developed multiple projects. We would have been very lucky to do one pilot, have that pilot go and be a success but in development, as you know, it takes a lot of tries to get it right. This is no different.”
House Of Dragon: Release Date And Plot
HBO has confirmed that the show is set for a 2022 release. However, no specific date or month is revealed yet. So, we have more than a year to get more updates regarding the show.
As for the plot, House of Dragon will reflect on the origins of the Targaryen Dynasty, set 300 years before Game of Thrones. The storyline is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s book, Fire and Blood. Also, the casting for the three leads was released earlier this year. The call revealed the three most famous figures in the Targaryen dynasty – siblings Aegon, Visenya, and Rhaenys Targaryen.
