A Reunion of the ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ cast was planned as an unscripted HBO Max special and the filming was originally scheduled in the mid of March. As many production and shooting activities were shut down due to the pandemic, the filming was postponed to May and then again to August. Things are not under control as COVID-19 is having a huge impact and America’s mortality rate is accelerating and shows no signs of improvement.
On 7th August 2020 the production announced that the special will be delayed and nothing can be predicted as of now because the safety and health of the actors and the staff are of utmost concern. Jennifer Aniston commented that she is sad and it is not a safe time to do it with a live audience. She also said it is going to be a super amazing event and it will be worth the wait. Friends are going nowhere and you cannot get rid of them is what she stated.
The special will be getting together the star cast of the show. They are Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry. This will be the very first time after the show, that all the cast is getting back together. In 2016, partial Reunion had happened without Perry, as a tribute to James Burrows, the director of the show as he had turned them all into stars. The fans were disappointed as no proper reunion happened at that time and was wishing it would come true. But, the cast surprised their fans this year. All of them posted a picture and tagged each other saying, ‘It’s happening…’.
