The Dragon Ball Super anime has shown a breakthrough in the power of Goku and Vegeta. We imagine the same will be for the next Toei Animation movie, so the villain will need to be on the level of the gods to take on the Z Warriors on the big screen.
Toei Animation and Akira Toriyama’s plan is to approach the project with the idea of creating a larger-scale story to deliver even more engaging fights. This is surprising given how intense Dragon Ball Super: Broly was. How is it possible to overcome something like this?
There are two alternatives. The first is to finish off what happened in Dragon Ball Super: Broly not with the level of the battles, but with the depth of the story. The other option is to introduce an opponent even more powerful than the Legendary Saiyan.
Toriyama has already talked about an unexpected character, so it is likely that we will see fights of great magnitude. If so, only a “god-level” threat can put Goku and Vegeta in serious trouble, who are about to master Ultra Instinct and Hakai, respectively.
A god-level villain would additionally push Goku and Vegeta even further in surprising ways. Dragon Ball Super: Broly already surprised with a god-level fusion, so the sky is the limit on what could happen next for a villain already starting at that upper echelon of strength.
