Our favorite serial killer will be back on our Tv screens with his crazy motives anytime soon. Yes, we are talking about Dexter, who loves enjoying double life, and we love seeing him liveit. According to recent news, American drama ‘Dexter’ is getting a reboot. This time it will be in the form of a limited series at Showtime. Also, the lead, Michael C. Hall will be back in the titular role.
Dexter is an American crime drama reflecting the life of Dexter Morgan who has murderous tendencies and lives a double life. He portrays as the perfect forensic technician for the police department in the day; And, kills criminals during the night time.
Dexter was one of the most liked shows in crime-Tv history. However, the series finale was somehow disliked by the viewers. They felt like the end did not do justice to the show. And, so, the viewers will get to know more about Dexter’s life, and probably, we will now have a new and improved ending.

Showrunner’s Views On The New Extension
The revival of the crime show will be an extension to the series which concluded in 2013 after 8 long seasons. In the series finale, Dexter fakes his death and starts living under a new name and personality; the ending has caused disagreement among the fans, as they feel it’s not right.
Recently, Clyde Phillips, showrunner of Dexter, also shared his thoughts on the new upcoming reboot. He has mentioned in his interviews that the new show will not ‘undo’ the original ending rather the story will start from scratch.
Phillips also said that they do not want it to be the ‘season 9’ of Dexter. He continued and said that both the original and the reboot will have a time difference of more than 10 years, and it will always be reflected. He said that the ending of this show will have no resemblance to how the original ending was. Moreover, he said that he felt great about writing a second finale and even showtime was very gracious about it as well.
Later, he told the interviewer that Hall was never happy with the end of the show. But, it doesn’t mean that they are revising the end with the new series. He made a funny comment at the end and said, that they are doing the show again as people are hungry for more Dexter Content.
Release Date And Cast For The New Series
Nothing regarding the cast is revealed as of now. Also, no official date has been set for the show at the moment. But, it is believed that the series will begin production in 2021, and will premiere later next year, 2022.
