‘Apex Legends’, a development of Respawn Entertainment is a shooting battle game that was first released on 4th February 2019. It was released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. There was no announcement or marketing done before the release. Andrew Wilson, the CEO of EA (Electronic Arts) has confirmed that they are releasing a version for mobile phones. Electronic Arts deals with the publishing of the game and it was quite a success. The company has mentioned that the phone version is currently under development and is expected to finish by mid-2021.
Why was ‘Apex Legends’ for mobile phones postponed?
In 2019, EA had announced that they will be releasing it in 2020. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the development of the game was slowed down. They also mentioned that they will be launching ‘Apex Legends’ for Nintendo as well. In 2020, the game has made more than $500 million. Now, if extended to various platforms, it could even make $1 billion annually. Blake Jorgensen, the COO stated why they wanted to launch the game on mobile phones. He said that it is a device that is highly used by everyone around the world. Now, the numbers are growing more and more every day.
Mobile phones are currently one of the most successful platforms to release a game. However, they’ll have to make sure there are no defects when operated. Their game has done really well across all the platforms. As a result, now, they are expecting to grow Apex Legends a lot, getting it into this new platform. Every game, such as ‘Pubg’ or ‘Call of Duty’ has created an entirely separate entity when it comes to mobile phones, distinguishing it from the PC model. Games like ‘Valorant’ and ‘Wild Rift’ are also under beta testing and will be available in the stores soon. Although we are not sure how the mobile version of this royal game will be different, we can surely expect something new from them.
Everything you need to know about the release of the game:
Wilson mentioned that they are planning to release a game in 2022 somewhere around May. They want to release a beta version by the end of 2021 if everything goes according to what they have planned. However, they are not sure about the dates. But, one thing they said was it will surely be released before September 2022. In 2016, the development of the project was started but was kept a secret. The game has received a lot of positive reviews for its development, element combination, and gameplay. It has currently 70 million users worldwide. The game has also won numerous awards. Some of them are Japan Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, and 16 British Academy Games Awards.
Ohhhh baby, EA conference soon. Hopefully get some Apex Legends mobile info!

In 2019, they had introduced ‘Iron Crown’ which was about buying in-game items. It created a controversy as it was unfair monetization and received a lot of backlash from the players’ community. Some members of the development community also started receiving death threats and insults against them. The latter apologized for increasing the prices and things were sorted quickly. The game is about a multiplayer battle that has squads that consist of 3 players each. Characters are already inbuilt that are called the Legends. The 15 characters are Wraith, Gibraltar, Bloodhound, Bangalore, Caustic, Mirage, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Octane, Wattson, Crypto, Revenant, Loba, Rampart, and Horizon.
