On Saturday, President Donald Trump nominated the circuit judge on the US court of appeals Amy Barrett to succeed late justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ruth Ginsburg passed away on 18th September, 2020. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which was the cause of her death. Trump called Amy as an intellect and someone who is loyal to the constitution. He said that she would be a perfect fit as she is fair and follows the law accurately. He announced it in front of the republic senators and media calling her one of the most brilliant legal minds.

After the announcement, Barrett came forward talking about the type of laws she would like to carry forward. However, she gave no specifics regarding the laws. According to her, the judges are not meant to be policymakers. In fact, they are someone who should follow the written rules and regulations. After Trump nominated her, people have started questioning his integrity. He had said that in case he loses the upcoming elections, there will not be a peaceful transfer of power.
Today, President Trump nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court — a jurist with a written track record of disagreeing with the Court’s decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act.
