Learning About Mariachi History

in Mariachi, Special Report

I have had the pleasure to meet over the phone during the past few weeks a very respected mariachi historian, Jonathan Clark.  He has created the website named www.mariachihistory.com where he has published some of his articles about the history of the mariachi. They are a fantastic reading, very illustrative, and a must for those wanting to learn about the history of the mariachi and the history of some of the most important ensembles like Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.

His articles have been reproduced in many websites including Serenata Mariachi, but what better than going to the source to read this material.

This post is simply to recognize the academic work and the contribution that Jonathan has done for the mariachi tradition through his research of the mariachi history.

I promise that we will learn more in the future about Jonathan and others who help document the history and tradition of the mariachi culture.

If you want to learn about mariachi history, read the articles in his website Mariachi History.
